New Delhi: Benazir Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari is a completely shattered man following her wife's assassination on Thursday in Rawalpindi.
He told CNN-IBN that the people who planned the first assassination attempt during Benazir's homecoming procession in October in which more than 150 people were killed must be behind the Rawalpindi attack too.
"Whoever was behind the first assassination attempt is behind this attempt as well. Benazir claimed that Musharraf was behind her, nobody can change that position," Asif Ali Zardari said.
"She came to save Pakistan and they killed Benazir. She has left a dying declaration which has been published in USA," Zardari said.
Referring to the ruling establishment of Pakistan, Zardari said: "They killed her."
Meanwhile, former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif also said that Benazir's assassination was a premeditated killing.
He also accused the Pakistan government of not attempting to step up security for him even Benazir's assassination.
"We have announced boycotting the elections because under such circumstances elections are meaningless. It is a futile exercise. What elections? Who is going to venture out to campaign under these circumstances? Government is completely indifferent to the security of the political party leaders. It was a target killing and there is no doubt about it. Why was an armed man allowed to venture so close to her? No security arrangement has been made for me but I intend to live here, in this country. Why should I move out?" an agitated Sharif asked. |

|
|
Hyderabad: Rebellious Congress MLA from Khairatabad P Janardhan Reddy died of massive heart attack here on Friday. He was 59. PJR, as he is fondly called, was participating in the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee meeting at Jewel Gardens in Secunderabad, when he collapsed with severe chest pain. He was immediately rushed to Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences nearby, where he was declared dead. PJR, who rose to the level of Congress Legislature Party leader from an ordinary industrial worker and trade union leader, was always in the news with his rebellious attitude. He was a staunch critic of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and he, along with Sanathnagar MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy, questioned the indifferent attitude of Rajasekhar Reddy government towards the Telangana region in general and Hyderabad in particular. Both, together, earned the nickname of ‘Hyderabad Brothers.” PJR was elected to the State Assembly five times and was a minister in the Anjaiah and Vijayabhaskara Reddy Cabinets. He was defeated in 1999 elections by Telugu Desam candidate K Vijayarama Rao. |

Audio of Okka Magadu released21st Dec 2007
Audio of Balakrishna, Anushka, Nisha Kotari, Simran starring Okka Magadu is released today at Cyber Gardens, Silparamam. The event is attended by Who is Who of the film industry. YVS Chowdary directed and produced this film on Bommarillu banner. Turn out was huge and it became an impossible task for the security. The venue could not accomodate the turn out and this disappointed some fans. An estimate of about 3000 fans came from around the state to see the event. Dasari Narayana Rao, Raghavendra Rao presided over the event as chief guests. SS Rajamouli, Boyapati Srinu, Srinu Vaitla, AS Ravikumar Chowdary, Nandamuri Ramakrishna, Krishna prasad, Ramyakrishna, Anushka, Charmi, Sanghavi, R Narayana Murthy, B Gopal, sagar, C Kalyan, Mani Sharma and others attended the event. Mani Sharma composed music for this film and Supreme Audio company is releasing the music into the market.
Talking during the event, SS Rajamouli said, 'Even though there were hits and super hits in the film industry, there is no film that shook the box office. That is because the lion is resting now. The lion will roar again on 11th of January (release of Okka Magadu). That roar will prove what collections and shaking the box office means. I wanted to be part of the fans in this event but I was pulled on the stage'. Referring to YVS Chowdary, he said, 'He is the Okka Magadu (only man) who can make such films. This film will surely be a festival for all the fans. It will surely break all the records'.
Boyapati Srinu added to the words of Rajamouli saying that it will be the songs of Okka Magadu through out Andhra from tomorrow and after 11th Jan, every one will talk about the film only. Srinu Vaitla said that YVS is a die hard fan of NTR. 'His wish of making a film with NTR is fulfilled this way'.
R.Narayana Murthy is the speaker who created an ignition with the fans. He said the fans should mature from saying Jai Balayya Jai Balayya to "raa Balayya.. Rajakiyalloki raa" (come into Politics Balayya). 'If the fans insist, he will surely come into politics. And he is the prospective Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh', said Narayana Murthy.
Ramya Krishna said that she is waiting to watch the film.
Dasari Narayana Rao said, 'Late NTR is one of the most respected artists of India. And coming from that is Balayya. He alone is capable of films like Okka Magadu. Before this event, Balayya told me a dialog from the film. I can tell you one thing. Fans will go crazy in the theaters for that dialog. All those who are looking to break the nation into pieces on basis of caste and those who are trying to enter politics in the name of caste will feel ashamed with this dialog. There are several dialogs in the film that run that way. As a producer, YVS considers every film to be a penance. As a director, he sculpts it. I am sure the box office records will be rewritten with this film coming in this combination'.
YVS Chowdary said, 'I am a die hard fan of NTR. I came into movies with pure passion. But my desire to make a film with late NTR would have remained unfulfilled for ever. But with Okka Magadu, that desire is fulfuilled. Some scripts can be done by only particular heroes and this script of Okka Magadu is only tailored for Balayya. If he did not agree to do this project, I would never have attempted it with anyone else.'
Balakrishna remembered the words that late NTR said during a function in Vijayawada referring to the turn out; 'Nela eeninda.. leka akasam bhoomi paiki valindha'. Balayya then thanked all his fans who came to the event from across the state. Talking about the film, Balayya said, 'I am two different kind of roles in the film. YVS Chowdary moulded it in his own special way. I dont want to reveal anything more. And also the film has plenty of punch dialogs. Pranalatho chelagatamadevari pranalu theestha.. pranalu pose variki naa pranalaina ista is a dialog from the film. There are plenty of them. Mani Sharma gave excellent music for the film. All of them will be super hits. For all my fans this will turn out to be another festival. Wait is just until 11th January'. |
